Lummi girls fall to superior team

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 21, 2014

Lummi's girls' basketball team couldn't keep up with the high-powered Tulalip Heritage team, as the Blackhawks fell 53-15 on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Tulalip Heritage High School.

"Tulalip was awesome," coach Randy Kaui said in a phone interview. "They had weapons everywhere."

Issabella James and Treena Humphreys stepped up despite the loss. They combined for 11 of the Blackhawks 15 points.

"Bella James worked her tail off tonight," Kaui said.

The Blackhawks are back on the court for an alumni game on Saturday, Jan. 25.
