Lynden records several personal bests in loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 21, 2014

Lynden's boys' swimming team fell to Anacortes 113-62 on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Lynden YMCA.

"Anacortes is one of the best teams in the league," Lynden coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview.

Regardless of the superior competition, Gibb was pleased with his swimmers.

"I didn't expect it because we are in heavy training but many swimmers had personal bests," Gibb said. "It's good to see the hard work is paying off."

Grant Williams was one of the swimmers who impressed Gibb, who said Williams had the best meet. Williams had personal best times in the 200 and 500 freestyles.

Lynden (2-5, NWC 2-4) gets a lengthy break before competing the NWC "B" Championships on Friday, Feb. 7, at Arne Hanna Aquatic Center.
