Ferndale Cost Cutter liquor license suspended for 10 days

FERNDALE - The Cost Cutter grocery store on LaBounty Drive has had its liquor license suspended for 10 days for selling vodka to a minor, according to the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

The suspension runs Monday, Jan. 20, until Thursday, Jan. 30 - meaning the Ferndale store can't sell alcohol during that time, according to Mikhail Carpenter, spokesman for the liquor board.

The suspension is for a Dec. 12 compliance check conducted by the board. An underage aide working with the state agency went into the store and was able to buy the alcohol, Carpenter added.

Officials at Cost Cutter owner The Markets LLC couldn't be reached for comment.
