A few biz tidbits

Here are a few items I noticed in the latest Bellingham building permit applications:

-- The new H&M clothing store is going into the former Big 5 space, according to a building permit application. The remodel for the 19,000-square-foot space will include a new store front on the outside at the entrance near Macy's.

-- An application was filed for a four-story mixed-use building in Fairhaven at 1140 10th St. The project name is South Bay Suites.

-- A permit was approved to begin phase one of a 21,000-square-foot medical building at 2500 Squalicum Parkway.

-- A permit was issued for a remodel of building to put in a retail pharmacy at 300 E. Sunset Drive.

-- A permit was issued to put in retaining walls for the new Oxford Suites hotel at 4051 Meridian St.

-- Permit applications are filed for the interior remodel of the new Rock & Rye Oyster House at 1145 N. State St., in the Herald Building.
