Squalicum boys spread the ball around in win over Nooksack Valley

The Squalicum boys' basketball team had four players score in double figures in a 76-48 Northwest Conference victory Monday, Jan. 20, at Noosack Valley.

Benjamin Garcia had 14 points, Alijah Garcia and Damek Mitchell each had 12 points and Blake Youtsey added 11 points for the Storm.

"Squalicum did a really nice job of capitalizing off of our turnovers," said Nooksack Valley coach Tyler Mitchell of the 19-12 turnover battle advantage by the Storm. "They did a nice job of spreading it around and had balanced scoring. They are a solid squad."

Connor Beard had 13 points to lead the Pioneers and Noah Rawls had nine points and five rebounds.

Nooksack Valley (0-6 in NWC, 0-13 overall) plays a conference game Friday, Jan. 24 at Ferndale, and Squalicum (4-2, 8-5) plays the same night at home against Sedro-Woolley in an NWC game.
