The Willows Inn on Lummi Island earns AAA Four Diamond Award

The Willows Inn restaurant on Lummi Island was awarded a AAA Four Diamond Award, one of only two establishments added to the list of AAA Four Diamond properties in Washington State in 2014.

Altura restaurant in Seattle also earned a AAA Four Diamond Award for the first time.

The Willows Inn restaurant, led by chef Blaine Wetzel and managing partner John Gibb, is known for its fish, forage and farm menu. Details about The Willows Inn can be found at willows-inn.com.

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel celebrates 30 years as a AAA Four Diamond lodging, and the Sorrento Hotel (Seattle) is recognized for the 25th consecutive year. The Westin Seattle remains the longest running AAA Four Diamond establishment in Washington, celebrating 33 consecutive years.

A total of 29 lodgings and nine restaurants are represented on the AAA Four Diamond Award list in Washington and northern Idaho this year. 

A total of 2,277 hotels and restaurants received the AAA Four Diamond Rating for 2014 in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. This group makes up less than four percent of all AAA Diamond Rated properties.

AAA inspectors conduct physical, on-site evaluations. Lodgings and restaurants can earn one to five AAA Diamonds. A detailed list, including photos, of AAA Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants can be found on AAA.com/diamonds.
