Lynden boys' swimming easily beats Sedro-Woolley 111-43 in league meet


Several Lions swimmers swam personal bests, and the Lynden boys' swim team earned a 111-43 Northwest Conference win against Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Lynden YMCA.

The Lions won seven out of 11 events.

"We had a lot of personal bests, which is good," Lynden coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview. "I was pleased with the team, and we have been working hard."

Grant Williams won the 100 freestyle in a time of 57.70 seconds, Jordan Thompson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.60, Zach Woodyard won the 50 freestyle in 26.30 and Michael Johnson won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.90.

Jon Wiley, Johnson, and Williams each swam personal bests.
