Golden Eagles confidence growing with big win over Mariners

Ferndale's boys' wrestling team rolled through Sehome 68-3 on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Ferndale High School.

"It really showed we wanted to win," Ferndale coach Caleb Schlack said in a phone interview. "It's about time we started doing that. We've been a little timid lately."

Freshman Ben Broselle was one wrestler who Schlack highlighted as someone who stood out.

"He wrestled one of their better wrestlers and came out attacking," Schlack said. "But all of our guys are getting the mindset that they can go toe-to-toe with anybody. It's nice to see more confidence from everyone."

Ferndale (6-1) and Sehome (3-4) both wrestle in the NWC Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Sehome High School.
