Orcas stay undefeated in conference with win over Olympic

Whatcom Community College's women's basketball team defeated Olympic College 73-54 on Wednesday, January 15, at Olympic College to stay undefeated in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges north region.

Kortney Grattic had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the team. Nikki Gilbert added 13 points and six assists.

The Orcas led 40-22 at halftime after getting off to a quick start.

"I thought we had a solid first half," coach Sara Bergner said in a phone interview. "We got a lot of easy buckets in the first half and executed well in the half court to build that lead. But I thought we coasted a little bit in the second half."

The Orcas move to 8-6 on the season but are 4-0 in conference. They take on Bellevue College on Saturday, Jan. 18, on the road.
