BELLINGHAM - Drivers who want to show a little Viking pride when they're on the road can purchase a new Western Washington University-themed license plate for their cars through the Washington State Department of Licensing.

The license plate features the university's Viking mascot on a blue background with green lettering.

The fee for the plate varies depending on the vehicle, with $28 of that cost given back to WWU and distributed through the WWU Alumni Association for scholarships.

The license plate can be purchased by completing the Special License Plate Application found on the Department of Licensing website (dol.wa.gov) and taking it to any Department of Licensing office. The specialty plate is mailed within two business days of the purchase.
