Hay drive to help feed horses in Whatcom Humane Society care

DEMING - Members of the Mt. Baker FFA are hosting a hay drive Saturday, Jan. 18, to collect hay for horses being cared for by the Whatcom Humane Society.

The humane society received 31 horses in 2013 - some seized, some surrendered by their owners and some strays - and the increased number of horses in the organization's care has strained resources.

The hay drive will run from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Mount Baker High School, 4936 Deming Road. Hay must be horse quality - nothing moldy or of poor quality - with no round bales accepted. For more information about the drive, email todd@mtbaker.wednet.edu.
