THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 13, 2014

LYNDEN - Longtime Lynden High School coach Rollie DeKoster will discuss his new book, "Lumber Mills in the Lynden Area," at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Lynden Pioneer Museum, 217 Front St. Copies of the book will be available for sale at $10.

DeKoster was a football, basketball and baseball coach for many years, until 1989. During his tenure, his varsity football and basketball teams made multiple state appearances, and his football team won a state title in 1980.

According to the museum, DeKoster always had a soft spot for local logging history, and many of his relatives were loggers and worked the local camps.
