Forum to address $125 million Ferndale school bond

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 13, 2014

FERNDALE - Community members who'd like to know more about a $125 million Ferndale School District bond that will go before district voters in February can attend a forum Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The forum will include a presentation about the bond, tours of Ferndale High School and a chance for audience members to ask questions about the bond. It will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Ferndale High School, 5830 Golden Eagle Drive.

If it passes, the $125 million bond will cover a rebuild of Ferndale High School, a new maintenance and transportation facility at the old Mountain View Elementary School site and remodeling at either Mountain View or North Bellingham Elementary to create an updated home for Windward High School students.

The bond will go before voters in a special election Feb. 11, with ballots in the mail to district residents by Jan. 20.
