Rant: Border backlog hurts retail

I had to take my daughter to the Vancouver airport Dec. 28 to catch a flight. Coming back, the border was the worst mess I have ever seen there. Traffic was backed up clear to 8th Avenue in White Rock! It was a hour and a half wait, plus. It seems all of Vancouver must have been trying to come down here for the after-Christmas sales. The border officers had all gates open, but still could not begin to handle the volume of traffic. This has to be costing Bellingham and Whatcom County a lot of business.
