Strong first half leads to Mariners' win over Golden Eagles

Sehome's boys' basketball team took a 13-point lead into halftime and cruised to a 56-42 victory over Ferndale on Friday, Jan. 10, at Ferndale High School.

"We had really good energy early in the game," Sehome coach AJ LaBree said in a phone interview.

Evan Miksovsky had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Elijah Andrushenko had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

"For Andrushenko, it was one of the best games he's played this year," LaBree said.

Ferndale was led by Austin Honeycutt with 11 points.

The Mariners (8-4, NWC 2-2) face Mount Baker on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Sehome High School. The Golden Eagles (4-7, NWC 2-2) go on the road to face Blaine on Monday, Jan. 13.
