Lynden Christian girls shut down Burlington-Edison

Lynden Christian's girls' basketball team earned a 45-31 win over Burlington-Edison on Thursday, Jan. 9, at Burlington-Edison High School. The Lyncs were led by Sally Vlas' 14 points in the win.

"Our girls played really well defensively tonight and we were able to force several turnovers," Lynden Christian coach Curt DeHaan said in a phone interview of his team's play. The Lyncs forced 24 turnovers.

Makayla Lancaster added 13 points for the Lyncs and shut down Burlington-Edison's Edie Breckenridge on defense.

"Lancaster played her best game of the year," DeHaan said.

Lynden Christian improves to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in Northwest Conference play with the win.

The Lyncs' next game is at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at home against Lynden.
