Lynden had plenty to wrestle for in its last home match of the season and the Lions grabbed a 36-24 win over Bellingham on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The Lions had six seniors wrestling in their last match in Lynden High School's gym and coach Santos Gallegos knew how much it meant.

"All the girls wrestled hard today," he said in a phone interview. "All kids look to come out with a win in their last time wrestling at home. It was good for them."

Shannon Gee was one of the seniors who got a win. She pinned Sydney Coleman-King in the 130-pound class.

The Lions (1-3) and Red Raiders (0-4) wrestle in the Burlington-Edison Women's Invite on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Burlington-Edison High School.
