"Rigoletto," Giuseppe Verdi's hugely popular opera ever since its Venice premiere in 1851, is the tense and brutal tale of a deformed court jester caught in a web of corruption, lechery and revenge.
Seattle Opera presents the melodrama at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Jan. 15, 18, 22, 24 and 25; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., in Seattle Center.
