Seattle Opera presents "Rigoletto," Giuseppe Verdi's hugely popular opera, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Jan. 15, 18, 22, 24 and 25; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., in Seattle Center.

"Rigoletto," Giuseppe Verdi's hugely popular opera ever since its Venice premiere in 1851, is the tense and brutal tale of a deformed court jester caught in a web of corruption, lechery and revenge.

Seattle Opera presents the melodrama at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Jan. 15, 18, 22, 24 and 25; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., in Seattle Center.

The opera is sung in Italian, with English subtitles. Tickets, $73 to $220, are at seattleopera.org and 800-426-1618.
