Blaine loses to Anacortes despite Westbrook's 22 points

Blaine's boys' basketball team suffered an 87-42 loss to Anacortes' balanced attack Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Anacortes High School. The Borderites were led by Josiah Westbrook's 22 points in the loss.

"Give credit to (Anacortes), they just outplayed us, flat out," Blaine coach Shaun Pile said in a phone interview. "Westbrook was the only guy aggressive offensively."

Andrew Medalia led the Seahawks with 23 points. Anacortes had 27 assists as a team.

Shaq Woods added three points and seven assists for Blaine. The Borderites' offense was pressured into 25 turnovers by Anacortes' defense.

Blaine's next game is at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at home against Bellingham.
