Free throws help Storm girls top Sehome

Squalicum girls' basketball got 22 points from the foul line en route to a 54-45 win over Sehome on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Sehome High School. The Storm was led by Meghan Lowry's 16 points in the victory.

Sehome committed 30 fouls in the loss, resulting in 37 free throw attempts for Squalicum.

Maddy Bryan led the Mariners with 12 points and nine rebounds, both team highs.

"It was Bryan's best game so far. Defensively she was all over the floor making great stops and grabbing rebounds," Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview. "My kids played really hard tonight, it was four quarters of intense basketball."

Squalicum's Kamea Pino added 11 points and Sydney Arndorfer had eight more for the Storm. Megan Bayless added nine points for Sehome.

Squalicum's next game is at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Meridian. Sehome plays next at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at home against Ferndale.
