Knutson leads Red Raiders to victory over Trojans

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 7, 2014

Bellingham's girls' basketball team defeated Meridian 56-36 on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Meridian High School.

Michaela Knutson led the Red Raiders with 18 points.

"Knutson had the performance of the game," Bellingham coach Ed Wissing said in a phone interview. "She couldn't miss in the first half. She might have had more points, but she was in foul trouble in the first."

The void was filled nicely by the rest of the team, Wissing said.

"We played four solid quarters together," he added. "I see that our system is starting to click."

The Red Raiders play again Thursday, Jan. 9, against Blaine at Bellingham High School. The Trojans play Squalicum on Friday, Jan. 10, at home.
