Vlas' double-double leads LC girls over Mount Baker

Lynden Christian girls' basketball earned a 62-44 victory over Mount Baker in a Northwest Conference matchup Monday, Jan. 6, at Lynden Christian High School. The Lyncs were led by Sally Vlas' 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Lynden Christian coach Curt DeHaan praised Vlas' play in a phone interview, noting her efficient 6-10 shooting in the game.

Emily Yost led the Mountaineers with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Mount Baker fell to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in NWC play.

Karley De Jager scored 14 for the Lyncs, and Courtney Hollander dished out five assists. Lynden Christian improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in conference games.

Lynden Christian's next game is at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Burlington-Edison.
