Lummi boys earn road victory

The Lummi boys' basketball team got out to an early lead and put away Grace Academy in the middle quarters in a 75-26 victory Monday, Jan. 6, at Grace Academy.

Austin Brockie had 23 points, including five 3-pointers, Trazil Lane added 11 points and eight rebounds and Charlie Wilson and Willie Jones had eight points each for Lummi, which improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in league.

The Blackhawks had 13 steals as a team.

Lummi coach Jerome Toby said his team played solid defense and spread the ball around the open shooters.

"I was proud of the their hustle, teamwork and hard work," Toby said in a phone interview.

The Blackhawks play a league game against Tulalip Heritage at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at home.
