Mountaineers to discuss conservation

January 5, 2014

Stewardship programs and natural world adventures will be the topic of Wednesday’s Adventure Presentation by the Olympia Mountaineers.

Members of the branch’s conservation committee will give a program titled “Adventures from Paradise on Mount Rainier to Paradise on Maui.”

Presenters will talk about trail maintenance, natural resources restoration and projects to protect area parks, refuges, forests, rivers and prairies. They also will talk about the history, cultural exchange, science, archaeology, adventure and camaraderie discovered along the way.

The event will be held at Friends Meeting House at Priest Point, 3201 Boston Harbor Road, Olympia.

There will be a potluck dinner and social hour at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share, your own plate and flatware. The adventure program begins at 7 p.m.
