Nooksack Valley boys struggle offensively in loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 4, 2014

Nooksack Valley boys' basketball couldn't get going on offense and took a 62-35 loss to Friday Harbor on Saturday, Jan. 4, at home. The Pioneers were led by Tanner Myhre and Aaron Bosscher, who each had seven points in the loss.

"We were a little fatigued from playing last night. We really didn't play very well," Nooksack Valley coach Tyler Mitchell said in a phone interview. "Tanner Myhre had a good game. He did a nice job getting to the hole, and he was aggressive offensively."

Friday Harbor's C.J. Woods proved to be a handful for the Pioneers as he scored 18 points.

"We tried a bunch of different guys on him," Mitchell said. "(Our defense on Woods) in the second quarter helped us a bit, (but) we just couldn't put the ball in the hole."

Nooksack Valley managed just three points in the second quarter.

The Pioneers' next game is at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at home against Mount Baker.
