Rough third quarter sinks Meridian girls

Meridian girls' basketball took a 61-48 loss to Sedro-Woolley behind 12 points from the Cubs' Tianna Langdon on Friday, Jan. 3, at Sedro-Woolley. The Trojans were led by Ryley Zapien's 17 points.

Meridian led at halftime 29-20, but Sedro-Woolley turned the tables on the Trojans with a 24-2 third quarter to take the victory. Emily Van Liew, Jr. added 11 points for the Cubs.

Meridian's Taylor Lunde had 13 points, Janessa Murphy added six and Kendra Holmes had three more.

Meridian hosts Bellingham at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
