Concerned about America's direction

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 3, 2014

The significance of what "sin" is and what the Bible says about it was brought to the forefront of the national conversation when Phil Robertson was suspended from Duck Dynasty recently.

He was asked in an article in GQ magazine "What, in your mind, is sinful?" His answer: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong. Sin becomes fine. Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers - they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

My take on it: everything is acceptable in America except being a Christian: Quoting the Bible is hate speech. Removing crosses from parks, prayer from schools, "under God" from the pledge and the Gettysburg address is justified by the First Amendment. Even our great leader Barack Obama can't bring himself to crediting the creator when quoting the Declaration of Independence.

I believe the progressives are dragging America over a cliff. It is time for the other side (we the people) to wake up and push back hard.
