Sehome girls sputter in loss at Anacortes

Slow starts in the beginning and middle of the game doomed the Sehome girls' basketball team in a 44-36 Northwest Conference loss Thursday, Jan. 2, at Anacortes.

"(The slow starts) were kind of the big difference in the game for us," Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview. "I thought we did really well in the second and fourth quarters."

Maddy Bryan had 11 points and nine rebounds for Sehome and Madison Ulrich, Olivia Messenger and Devin Grahn had six points each.

Tania Daou led Anacortes with 15 points.
