Sehome boys edge Anacortes in OT

Sehome boys' basketball earned a 62-61 win in overtime against Anacortes in a Northwest Conference matchup Thursday, Jan. 2, at Sehome. The Mariners were led by Evan Miksovsky's 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Elijah Andrushenko added 12 points and Duncan James had 11 for Sehome.

"Miksovsky had another big double-double," Sehome coach AJ LaBree said in a phone interview. "Elijah Andrushenko had some big rebounds late in the game. Then when Tanner Clark fouled out, we had a few guys out of position and Elijah did a good job there."

LaBree said the entire second half was a back-and-forth battle that fittingly ended in a tie, forcing Sehome to gain a one-point advantage in overtime to take the win.

Anacortes was led by Andrew Medalia's 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Sehome's next game is at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Squalicum.
