Honeycutt leads way in Ferndale girls' victory

Linsey Honeycutt had a double-double as the Ferndale girls' basketball team earned a 63-39 victory over Roosevelt in the KINCO/WESCO Challenge on Monday, Dec. 30 in Juanita.

Golden Eagles coach Mike Ivy praised Honeycutt as she had her third consecutive double-double.

"When you put up 22 points and 11 rebounds, that's a pretty good night," Ivy said in a phone interview. Ivy also said the Golden Eagles played "outstanding" defense.

Hannah Carlson added 15 points, Carly Bannerman had 10 points and Shelby Slaughter had five assists.

Ferndale plays at Burlington-Edison at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, in Northwest Conference action.
