Furniture wanted for Whatcom County families leaving homelessness

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 30, 2013

A program that gives furniture to needy Whatcom County residents is seeking donations to help families getting out of homelessness start off the new year.

House 2 Home Network is a program of The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County and serves as a virtual furniture bank in which volunteers pick up items that have been donated and deliver them directly to families in need. In January, volunteers will deliver furniture to many families who have little to none in their homes.

The greatest needs include queen beds, dressers, bookshelves, dining sets and kitchen items, according to a news release from House 2 Home Network.

In 2013, volunteers delivered more than 450 donated items.

To donate furniture, contact Abby Lund at 360-224-7185 or abbyl@whatcomvolunteer.org. Lund is the coordinator for House 2 Home Network.
