Orcas can't slow down Highline

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 28, 2013

Whatcom Community College's men's basketball team couldn't get past Highline Community College as it fell 76-73 on Saturday, Dec. 28, at Highline CC.

Kyle Impero led the Orcas with 25 points, but the Thunderbirds outrebounded WCC 41-32.

HCC had five players score in double figures and pulled out the three-point victory. The 3-pointer was the name of the game as HCC needed all 10 of its makes from beyond the arc to grab the win.

The bright spot for the Orcas was forcing 15 turnovers while only committing 10 of their own.

WCC (7-3) will face Peninsula in its first Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges matchup on Saturday, Jan. 4, at home.
