Lowry's double-double leads Storm over Port Townsend

Squalicum's girls' basketball team overcame 22 fouls to defeat Port Townsend 51-28 on Friday, Dec. 27, at Port Townsend High School in the Crush in the Slush tournament. Meghan Lowry led the Storm with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

"Meghan is an absolute stallion for us," Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. "She got her 17 points on 20 shots ... when we get her shots, good things happen."

Sam Starr added 11 points for the Storm, and Sarah Hulbert had 10 points. Kamea Pino also pitched in four points and a team-high six assists.

Squalicum's next game is 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, against Ingraham High School at Port Townsend for Crush in the Slush.
