Squalicum downed by poor shooting

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 27, 2013

Squalicum's boys' basketball team couldn't overcome its poor shooting en route to a 57-39 loss at the hands of Auburn Riverside on Friday, Dec. 27, in the Sundome Shootout at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

"I think the dome affected our shooting a little bit," coach Dave Dickson said in a phone interview. "It also may have had something to do with their athleticism."

Dickson described Auburn Riverside as the quickest team the Storm has played all season.

"We had to adjust to their quickness," Dickson said. "By the time we adjusted it was too little, too late."

Blake Youtsey led the Storm with 14 points.

Squalicum takes on La Center on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the SunDome.
