Poor shooting dooms WCC women

Whatcom Community College women's basketball fell to Lower Columbia College 73-58 on Friday, Dec. 27, at Centralia College in the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic. The Red Devils were led by Kaylea Knox's 17 points.

The Orcas were done in by their poor shooting (21 of 78) and turnovers (22).

Nathalie Gruber was WCC's bright spot, earning a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. The Orcas won the rebounding battle, grabbing 51 boards to the Red Devils' 48.

Alisha Friberg added nine points, and Kortney Grattic and Milan Woods each had eight points. Woods also had a game-high six assists.
