For those who would prefer a salt water dip, there is the Birch Bay Polar Bear Plunge at noon. The Birch Bay event is free and takes place on the beach across from CJ's Beach House Restaurant.

The event begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. and includes prizes for best costumes, oldest participant, the participant who traveled the farthest and the person who has been plunging for the most years.
