WCC men fall victim to 3-pointers

Whatcom Community College suffered a close loss at the hands of Community Colleges of Spokane, 84-81, Sunday, Dec. 22, at Everett Community College. The Orcas were led by Kyle Impero's 31 points in the defeat. Impero played every minute of the game for WCC.

WCC couldn't contain the Bigfoot's long-range attack, as CCS made 13 3-pointers to the Orcas' 3. CCS' Jared Miller scored all his points off of 3-pointers, making six.

Impero also tied with Jared Wells and Alex Duncan for the team lead in rebounds, with seven. Duncan added 12 points and six assists.

The Orcas won the rebounding battle with 41 to the Bigfoot's 34. Chase Haak led CCS with nine rebounds and 21 points, and Kwin Hanson scored 24 before fouling out.

WCC plays next at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Highline Community College.
