Blackhawks lose to Taholah 60-7

Lummi's girls' basketball team fell to Taholah 60-7 on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Taholah High School.

Coach Randy Kaui said Taholah was just the better team from top to bottom.

"From post to point, they played so smooth," Kaui said in a phone interview. "It was a classic team. It was the team we want to be like in a couple years."

Harley Ellenwood scored five of the Blackhawks' seven points and impressed her coach.

"She played really good defense," Kaui said. "She did the best she could."

For the young Blackhawks, who have seven players playing their first season of basketball, it's a learning experience, Kaui said. Step one is to work on fundamentals, he added.

The Blackhawks get back in action on Saturday, Jan. 4, against Shoreline Christian.
