Orcas booted out of tournament with close loss to Walla Walla

Whatcom Community College's women's basketball team was eliminated from the Bellevue Crossover Tournament after falling to Walla Walla 43-42 on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Bellevue College.

The Orcas led by six at the half, but Walla Walla's Amy DeLong's 17 points were too much for WCC.

WCC was led by Kortney Grattic's 14 points and seven rebounds, but the Orcas shot just 26.4 percent from the field. Walla Walla shot 35.6 percent.

It was the Orcas' second loss in the tournament after falling to Lane 75-65 on Friday, Dec. 20.

The Orcas (4-4) now travel to Centralia to take part in the LCC Holiday Classic on Friday, Dec. 27, at Centralia College.
