Murashov's career-high 31 points leads Mountaineers to victory in OT

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 18, 2013

Mount Baker's boys' basketball team battled back from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Friday Harbor 59-56 in overtime on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Mount Baker High School.

Reuben Murashov hit two free throws with 20 seconds left to tie the game up and send it to overtime. Colton Ranson led an 8-point run in the extra period to give the Mountaineers a victory.

"We aren't quite hitting on all cylinders," coach Rob Gray said in a phone interview. "But we found a way to gut it out. It wasn't pretty."

Murashov was the key to the comeback win, as he scored 18 of his career-high 31 points in the second half, including two key 3-pointers in the second half. He also shot 13 of 15 from the free-throw line.

"He was patient," Gray said. "He allowed the game to come to him."

Baker will play its fourth game in six days on Thursday, Dec. 19, at home.
