THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 18, 2013

BELLINGHAM - The man who was beaten to death at a Samish Way motel early Sunday morning, Dec. 15, died from brain swelling and herniation from multiple blows to the head, according to the Whatcom County medical examiner.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday morning on Ike P. Scarborough, 33, who died from his injuries after he was allegedly attacked in his room at the Aloha Motel by David Alan Solomon Jr.

Solomon faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with Scarborough's death.

The autopsy revealed no obvious weapon-related injuries, and Medical Examiner Gary Goldfogel said he didn't know of any weapons identified in the investigation.
