Sedro-Woolley Cubs boys' basketball preview capsule

Coach: Brett Farrar (second season)

Last year: Finished ninth in the Northwest Conference with a 4-8 record. Did not qualify for the postseason and finished 10-10 overall.

Players to watch: Jackson Price (jr., G); Michael Moser (sr., G/F); Mason Elms (jr., G); Blaine Hindman (so., F); Chad Wilburg (jr., F)

Outlook: Sedro-Woolley returns three of its top four scorers from last year, and enters this winter with an objective to get the basketball to the rim instead of settling for perimeter shots so frequently. "We don't want our guards to settle for 3-pointers as much," said coach Brett Farrar in an interview with the Skagit Valley Herald. "We want to attack the basket and get some freebies." All-Northwest Conference first-team junior guard Jackson Price (19.1 points per game) can score with the best, and Michael Moser (8.4) and Mason Elms (9.3) join Price to give the Cubs one of the most talented offenses in the NWC. Sophomore forward Blaine Hindman should see more minutes, and 6-foot-4 forward Chad Wilburg and 6-foot-5 guard/forward Cory Peterson give Sedro-Woolley height.
