LUMMI

BLACKHAWKS

Coach: Jerome Toby (fourth season)

Last year: Finished 10-1 in the Northwest 1B League. Ended season after going 0-2 in the 1B Tri-District Tournament and finished 18-5 overall.

Players to watch: Earl Johnson (sr., G); Dean Williams (jr., G); Logan Toby (sr., G); Kavarez Lane (jr., G)

Outlook: Although Lummi graduated six players, it returns starters Earl Johnson (7.8 points per game), Dean Williams (3.9), Logan Toby (6.5) and Kavarez Lane (6.8). "We're expecting leadership from them," said coach Jerome Toby of his four returning starters in a phone interview. "This year we have a lot of gym rats, kids that love being in the gym." Jerome is hoping that love for the game can help the Blackhawks advance to state after a disappointing ending to last year's strong season. Forward Willie Jones (8.1) gives Lummi a strong presence in the post.
