Lyncs fall to Alumni in preparation game

Lynden Christian's girls' basketball team fell to its alumni squad 71-57 on Friday, Dec. 13, at Lynden Christian High School.

The alumni started off slow, but scored 47 points in the second half to get the win.

"We played even with them for three quarters," coach Curt DeHaan said in a phone interview. "We just ran out of gas in the fourth quarter."

The Lyncs were led by Sally Vlas' 14 points.

"Vlas played real well tonight," DeHaan said. "She attacked the hoop."

For LC, it was really a preparation game for the rest of the season.

"I was pleased with the way the girls played," DeHaan said. "They were a real tough opponent for us, and the girls are better prepared for the season."

The Lyncs continue their home stand against Burlington-Edison on Monday, Dec. 16.
