Lummi tops Grace Academy

Lummi boys' basketball notched a win in its season-opening game, 53-29, over Grace Academy on Friday, Dec. 13, at Grace Academy.

Trezil and Kavarez Lane each had 11 points to lead the Blackhawks to victory.

"The boys were still working out some of the cobwebs," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "We just need to clean it up a little bit and keep up the hustle on the defensive end."

Lummi put forth a balanced attack with eight of nine players scoring in the game.

The Blackhawks play next at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Mount Vernon Christian.
