WWU fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 14


BELLINGHAM - More than 640 students will get degrees from Western Washington University at fall quarter commencement Saturday, Dec. 14.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in Carver Gym.

The speaker will be Jack Cullen, a 1973 WWU graduate and member of the law firm Foster Pepper in Seattle. He recently represented an investment group led by actor Patrick Dempsey that was interested in buying Tully's Coffee. The student speaker is Natalie Boles, who is getting a degree in geography after studying Japan's post-tsunami recovery effort.

A ticket is required for admission. Those without tickets can watch the ceremony on large viewing screens in the Science, Mathematics and Technology Education building, on Comcast channel 26 or online at ustream.tv/channel/wwu-live-events1.

Guest parking is free on commencement day and will be available in most lots. Shuttle bus service will be available from parking lot 12A off Bill McDonald Parkway from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
