Speed limit reduced to 40 mph near Kendall Elementary

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 11, 2013

KENDALL - The speed limit on a section of Kendall Road near Kendall Elementary School is being reduced to 40 mph.

A speed study of the area determined traffic flow there better matches the reduced speed, according to the state Department of Transportation. It had been 55 mph.

The reduction is only for a small stretch of Kendall Road, also known as Highway 547, between Mount Baker Highway and Wheeler Road.

Signs posting the reduced speed are scheduled to be installed Thursday, Dec. 12.
