Roetcisoender's 27 points leads Lyncs to victory over Golden Eagles

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 10, 2013

Lynden Christian's boys' basketball team topped Ferndale 64-52 on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Ferndale High School.

Zach Roetcisoender led the Lyncs with 27 points.

"We couldn't contain him," Ferndale coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview.

The Lyncs trailed 16-10 after the first quarter, but pulled away in the next three quarters, as the Golden Eagles were unable to keep up.

"We didn't play well as I thought we should have," Walton said. "They played harder and deserved the win."

The bright spot for the Golden Eagles was Austin Honeycutt's 15 points and 10 rebounds.

"He's just a warrior," Walton said. "I go to war with him every time. He always works hard and always comes to play."

Ferndale (0-3) stays at home on Friday, Dec. 13, for its game against Blaine. The Lyncs (2-0) face Concrete on Friday.
