Meza's 3-pointers help Storm top Mariners

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 9, 2013

Lissette Meza hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points to lead Squalicum girls' basketball to a 37-24 win over Sehome on Monday, Dec. 9, at Squalicum High School.

"Lissette came up huge and knocked down some shots for us in the first half. ... She had 12 in the second quarter when we were dead on offense," Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview.

Meghan Lowry added 11 points for the Storm. Maddy Bryan led the Mariners with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

"The game was a little bit of a mess. Both teams are still trying to figure out their identities, I think," Wright said. "We still need to get better at offensive execution, need to feel out the game a little bit more."

Squalicum's next game is at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at home against Oak Harbor. Sehome plays next at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, when the Mariners host Lynden.
