Coach: Mark Gilmore

Last year: Struggled last year and finished with a 1-19 record overall, and a 0-12 record in the NWC. ... Offensively, the Trojans produced 24.8 points per game last season, including a season-high 40 points against Mount Baker.

Players to watch: Taylor Lunde (Sr.); Allecia Galindo (Jr.); Sydney Swanson (Jr.)

Outlook: One thing the Trojans have working for them is the fact that they have several returners from last year's team that got some strong experience. Senior Taylor Lunde led the team in scoring with a 5.4 points per game average. Allecia Galindo was right behind her with 3.2 points per game and Sydney Swanson averaged 2.9. Where Meridian's hopes of getting better lay, though, is on the defensive side of the ball. The Trojans allowed a league-worst 55.3 points per game last season to conference foes, and unless that changes, this season will look much like its last. With that said, though, the team has athleticism as many of the players on the basketball team are off the state-qualifying girls' soccer team.
